Hello, I’m Dr. Sam! I am a Brighton, MI native who completed my Doctor of Chiropractic and Masters in Sport Science & Rehabilitation degrees at Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to that I completed my Bachelor of Science in Movement Science at the University of Michigan.
I live by the mantra ‘movement is medicine’ and am an avid marathon runner and am passionate about functional fitness.
Since my doors have opened, Element has grown/changed/evolved drastically. I pride myself on creating a unique and different “chiropractic” experience. Yes, by training and licensure I am Doctor of Chiropractic. But a session at Element is likely much different than one you’ve experienced before. I have a passion for helping people, especially women through life transitions (prenatal, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and everything in between). Women’s Health is complex, beautiful, fascinating, and at times very frustrating — and something I am very passionate about helping women navigate. I pride myself on spending time listening and getting to know my patients to form a relationship. Within my practice I integrate a variety of chiropractic adjusting techniques with soft tissue modalities, cranial work, nutritional support and corrective exercises to provide a thorough, holistic and unique experience tailored to each individual patient.
Element is unlike your traditional chiropractic space, something it has taken a long time for me to confidently embrace. It is not for everyone. It requires commitment- physically, emotionally and financially and a desire to work together to help you reach your goals to move, feel and live your best.
At Element we do not work with insurance companies and all services are private-pay at time of service. Unfortunately insurance coverage of chiropractic care is not wellness-centered. Reimbursement rates often dictate length of appointments and quality of care. This doesn’t align with the values of Element, so by creating a private-pay model we are able to spend quality time, tailor care, create exercise plans, research your case, recommend supplements and focus on you as a person, rather than a number— something that cannot be done during a 5-10 minute appointment.
My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space for women to feel supported in their health journey. To provide both hands-on care to help improve health of the neuromusculoskeletal system, along with consultations on strategies, supplements and co-treatment with additional providers to help navigate the beautiful complexities of women’s health.
I understand that I simply cannot do it all. However, I will do my best to help as much as I can personally, as well as, find answers and help navigate a sea of holistic health professionals who can play an integral role in your health team. I look forward to playing a role in your health journey!
